Swim Meet #4

Last night was our last dual meet of the season. I was the 4th place finish judge. Uncle Clay came to see the girls swim. Cliff was in Toronto.

Results:

Vivian - 1st in freestyle relay; 4th in freestyle (1st heat).

Emma Grace - 2nd in medley relay (freestyle leg); 3rd in freestyle relay (second leg); 6th in freestyle (1st heat); 6th in backstroke.

Both girls swam well. Both swam in the first heat of freestyle (fastest heat). Emma Grace's age group was very competitive. Several of the races were quite close.

Being a finish judge is fun. I was right in the middle of everything. Best "seat" in the "house." My job was to determine who finished 4th and stand in front of that lane, so the scorers could award points. Then I handed the swimmer a pink poker chip (yes, there are pink poker chips) that the swimmer then took to the ribbon table to exchange for a pink 4th place ribbon.

After the meet we joined the team at Skeeters for dinner (at 10pm). Emma Grace invited her friend Emily to sit with us. It was a fun evening, but we were so tired this morning when we had to get up for 7am practice! Just 2 more days!
