We spent the WHOLE day at the Magic Kingdom.
By 8 am we were in the park meeting Snow White and singing, "If you're happy and you know it. . .." before entering Cinderella's Castle for a royal breakfast with the princesses. It was magical! We got our picture made with Cindi and met Fairy Godmother, Belle, Mary Poppins, and Snow White. Breakfast was excellent. Vivian especially liked the french toast. Both girls received magic wands and special wishing stars. What a GREAT way to start a Disney vacation with little girls!
Immediately after breakfast we headed to Ariel's Grotto. We had heard that it could get quite busy, so we decided to do that first. What an amazing experience. Ariel is Emma Grace's favorite princess, and she was really looking forward to meeting her. The wonderful thing is that Ariel takes time with each child (kinda like Santa at Christmas). Emm had written her a note, and she gave it to her. Ariel made a BIG deal out of it, which pleased Emm. Ariel put the note in her treasure box because it was so special. She even commented on Emma Grace's "starfish kisses" on her face.
By the end of the day we had done everything there was to do. Particular favorites were Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Pirates of the Carribean, Its a Small World, and Space Mountain. Vivian was bound and determined to do every thrill ride possible. Emma was a bit more cautious. She cried through the first ride on Big Thunder, but later asked to do it again, and then again. After that, she was good for Space Mountain, too. I don't do roller coasters, so I got to hear about it from the girls.
We met Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale, several princesses, Peter Pan and Wendy Darling, Captain Jack Sparrow, and several others. Vivian really wanted to see Tinkerbell, but we were told that Disney World requires so much magic that there just isn't enough left to bring Tinkerbell to full size. We were bummed, but we recovered quickly.
The girls got to play "Peter Pan Says" with Peter and Wendy. Vivian won and received a free Disney pin featuring The Incredibles. After the Pirates of the Carribean ride, we stopped to watch a "street" show put on by a pirate. Vivian was selected to be a pirate in training. She got to sword fight with Captain Jack. At the end, Emma was invited to join the crew and take the pirate oath. It was very cute!We also saw the live performance of "Cinderellabration" in front of the castle. Cinderella is crowned in the presence of several other princesses and their princes. Dancing, singing, beautiful costuming. WOW!
I'm sure I've missed a few things. There's so much to do and experience, but you get the idea.
Disney-MGM Studios tomorrow!
