Wheat-free, Soy-free, Yeast-free Cookie Taste Test

Yeah. Sounds like fun, right? Well, actually it was. Quite.

I set it up like a scientific experiment. One cookie from each box, split 4 ways. I made a chart for each person to record the cookie brand and type, their hypothesis about which cookie they would like best, and their actual results. After we tested, we combined our results to get our family favorites. Then Cliff graphed the results.

We tested 2 cookies from Enjoy Life (double chocolate brownie and snickerdoodles), Nana's chocolate munch cookie bars, and Glutino cranberry breakfast bars (I know, not technically a cookie).

We sat at the dining table with our samples and our charts and tested one at a time with a water chaser to clear the palate. Then we recorded our results.

Here is what we found:

1) No one correctly predicted the exact order of their own cookie preference. We mostly predicted liking the chocolate ones best. Not so!

2) We liked them all enough to keep them.

3) Order of preference was Snickerdoodle, Double Chocolate Brownie, Cranberry, Chocolate Munch.

Notes: Snickerdoodle was by far the favorite. Chocolate cookies lose a little something in the GF, SF conversion, but they are still good. The Chocolate Munch cookie bar MUST be eaten with milk (it is very dry).

We had so much fun doing this that we are planning future taste tests.

Next up: Macaroni and Cheese.

What a great way to work into this new diet -- and teach the scientific method and research techniques at the same time! You are most creative.

I love the Snickerdoodle cookies from Enjoy Life as well. As far as my chocolate fix, Hershey bars work great!
